Hello everyone,
I finally setup a webpage where you can download my Windows / DirectX examples I have posted previously (some from a year or more ago). They will be updated periodically with more and more examples until they are finished. The book examples that I'm working on now are:

Programming Windows - Charles Petzold
Windows Game programming for dummies [will be posted shortly]
Focus on 2D in Direct 3D
3D Game programming with DirectX 9.0

You can visit my site at: http://users.egl.net/talktomatt/default.html

I've included instructions on how to setup and recompile the examples, If you have any trouble, let me know and I'll see what I can do
MadMatt

It's good such thread exists. It reminds me of something.
I'm using Win98SE. All DLLs in DLL.rar are installed, I even tried downloading newer versions, but all examples in /Various.rar/Old OpenGL Examples/ crash with:
Quote:

DRAWF caused an invalid page fault in module GLUT.DLL at 016f:10006359.
PLANET caused an invalid page fault in module GLUT.DLL at 016f:10006359.
TEXTURED SURFACE caused an invalid page fault in module GLUT.DLL at 016f:10006359.
and so on...

ManOfSteel:
Looks like you have older versions of opengl examples, redownload the newer ones on my webpage (note there is no various folder now, each folder inside is now a separate download). The ones in the various examples use the very old glut.dll and opengl.dll, newer ones use glut32.dll and opengl32.dll

princezhou: your very very welcome!! Very Happy

@madmatt: my fault. I had the old versions as you said. Now they all work fine. Great examples by the way, thanks!

Hi Matt Childress! Great work! Thanks!
Only one complaint though, please reformat the Look And Feel of your website.

The blue background is too flashy and hard to read ( my eyes strain )!
Make it plain white. Please.

PS: Oops! And don't forget to make your fonts some other color. They
are also white! So they will become invisible!

Sorry for the long wait for my response. I'll try shading the text a light gray instead of bright white, and see if I can shade the background a bit brighter.

Thanks!
But do you too think that the site is hard on eyes?
I was saying based on my personal experience (and I usually have to
sit on computer for 8hrs straight) so my eyes irritate on every thing that feels
a little flashy or too contrastive.

8 hrs straight? no get-up and excercise breaks? I looked at my webpage again and decided that for sensitive eyes this would be a problem so changed the color scheme, let me know if your eyes are ok again. Smile

Thanks Matt!
The site is now more easy on my eyes! Relief!

But ( Shocked ) the visited links appear near invisible to me, I have to strain a lot
to see them!

Maybe you can fix them too! ( Damn! I am too demanding Twisted Evil )
