i was wondering in the dex4u dashboard, what you did to show the bg image, and what specifications is it.. 640*480 | 256 ? 320*200 | 256 ?

ive been trying to get images to display like you did dex in the dashboard, for a long time.. with still no success.. a place to start or something to work with, help or anything is greatly appreciated! thanks again..

The image of the dashboard is a 640 x 480 gif. I know that.

But I don't know hot to show it.

I'm looking through the source right now, looking how the menu works (the highlight) as I am thinking of making my own background. Just thinking...

Edit on reply: Damn it! (sorry). I can't open the Gui.asm in my notepad replacement, but works fine in notepad Sad

@Redragon, the dash image is 640x480 256 color gif file, but it will also load any size image as a bmp.
But you need to remember that Dex4u has lots of built in functions, that have taken year to implement.
I will try and make you a very basic bootable 640x480 256 color gif file viewer.

Here is the code, change "test.bmp" before assembling, to change image.
Run the exe to put it on a floppy, fasm code included.

Hope this helps.
Works in qemu too.

First you put this program on a floppy
http://alexfru.chat.ru/epm.html#bootprog
note: you can just use the floppy you have made.

Then you you use winimage, click on read floppy, then make self extrccting exe.
