As some of us know there has been #fasm on FreeNode and EFnet, howerver for various technical issues none of them has been siutable to use as the offical channel.
So we are now opening #flatassembler at FreeNode.

Anyone joining the channel should be auto voiced, if you're not you won't be able to speak, but you can still use /msg (privmsg) to contact the OPs on the channel.
[EDIT]To be auto voiced you must identify with NickServ. If you want to know more about NickServ, why and how to register your nickname please refer to: http://freenode.net or more easy use:
/msg nickserv help[/EDIT]

If you're new to IRC I'd recomend reading one or more of the following docs:

And as IRC client I recomend X-Chat ( http://www.xchat.org/ ), which is a nice client IMO, and there is procompiled binaries for both Windows and Linux (source is naturally avalible if you prefer to compile it your self)

Ok, now I've edited the first post here and made a little notice in the topic line on the channel.
Users must identofy with NickServ before they can speak.

For new commers to NickServ (on FreeNode)
NickServ is effectivly a database wich contains nicknames and passwords, it's used to protect nicknames from beeing stolen. For instance if somebody connects to FreeNode using the nickname scientica they will be notified that it's owned by someone else, the user should then changes his/her nick to another (eg via /nick new_nickname). If the user ignores the message and uses the nick I as the owner can have him kicked (/msg nickserv recover nickname [password] or /msg nickserv ghost nickname [password], put " help" after nickserv for help on those commands).
Also, when registered (and identified) with NickServ you also gain access to some more features of FreeNode services (like MemoServ (/msg memoserv help)).

We are working on that. If somebody asks a question then leaves, I try to send a memo when I get the message ... if I can answer their question

scientica and myself try to be there, but hopefully as time goes on, more ppl will join the channel.

Yeah, once more discover that fasm > nasm > masm > "the rest" they'll make other channels like #gentoo and #php (which both have "a few" users online) look like really small channels

xchat is a very nice client

Until I figure out how to copy from xchat I'm sticking to irssi.

if you're in linux it a pice of cake, just select the text with the mouse and hit the middel button in any other window (it's possible to use Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V or right click on the selection too (under some circumstances)). In windows, well I think C-c C-v and right clicking works fine

I went there. There were few of them about 5 people. Cant get much help there all people seemed to be asleep.

yeah the IRC channel needs to be more active, i idle whenever i can. right now there is also 5 idlers, not much has changed since your post :p
