It's not imposible. FASMW is based on FASM and old FASM shell of privalov ASMWORK. There was Linux version of ASMWORK. So, it's a point of some work to combine both.
But IMHO, most Linux users (and actually a lot of Windows users) prefer console versions of FASM. This fact I never couldn't understand Very Happy

I'm a Windows user and..., actually I like FASMW editor (thay way it emulates) much more than FASM features, this is another one reason I still keep using FASM. Twisted Evil

Ah, I understand now. It's not important, what editor Privalov use to make AsmEdit. It's very good! Behaviour when in "overwrite" mode is unique and only truly right. All other text editors I saw are wrong at this point. Maybe it needs some improvement of the highlighting (for example separate colors for directives and instructions) but it's a point of time I think.

The ASMEDIT control is based in behaviour on the DOS Navigator's editor, which is my favourite editor under DOS.

The reason is simple, simplicity, in Linux you can survive without a mouse (windows is a pain in the 4$$ without a mouse). In linux I do the most in consoles, it's faster and more info less fancy GUI stuff that serves no other purpose than loading the CPU at 100%.

When coding in linux I use GVIM (I have taken a quick look at emacs, but I'm happy with GVIM for now). Some times I've used pico (console editor, a nice one too), but mainly it's GVIM.

When I code in Windows I use fasmw, since it's easy, compiler and a nice editor all-in-one, compile and/or run, one key seqeance a way.
