I'm a total newbie for what concerns batch-files and what it can do, so i hope one of you experts might help me a bit with this tiny problem i'm having.

I would like to create a batch file that launches a page with a specific program.

Idea:

I have a file (start.htm), that exists on a CD. I would like it to load with a specific browser, also provided on that cd (let's say browser.exe).

Now i'm searching for the command to open the start.htm with the browser.exe program, instead of a users default browser.

Does anyone have an idea of how this can be accomplished?

Thanks in advance for your help

look inside autorun.inf on any cd and you will see what you want (possible) - a lot of disks do same.
btw this question has very weak relation to programming in assembly under dos - should be in the heap Wink

Thans for your fast reply, but since the .bat file is triggered from within another program, putting it in the autorun is of no use.

About the forum thingy...where should i post this question exactly? I don't understand very well what you mean with "the heap" lol

There's another section called 'Heap' where you put questions not really related to much:

hm,
you could make a program that copies the browser from the cd to local drive and execute it from there,
call it like:
browser.exe test.html
in the command line and it should open it as parameter 1.
or open it from cd if it can execute from cd.

one problem you might find is determining the drive letter of the cd rom drive, i remeber win98 boot floppy uses exe to determine drive letters too.
