Anyone here ever did multi-threading ?

I am looking for info on multi-threading ... what issue to look out for, what to prepare, what extra things that one must do in order to make their program multi-threadable from the get-go ?

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks !

Thanks all for your help !

I am looking for using it on Linux and Windows, on new AMD and Intel dual-core chips. While I know and tinkle with Linux's multi-threading thingy, I wonder if multiple-core threading is the same with multi-processor threading.

Thanks again !!

penang,
if you use the pthread library on linux and windows then you wont have to learn a separate API. However, the win32 API is different and has many features that an application could benefit from.
I recommend the book "Multithreading Applictions in Win32" as it has great source with it and covers all the topics well.

good luck.
