>But the 24kb kernel code debugging without sources is not a "free help job".

Uh, this is supposed to be an English forum. We do prefer you only speak in English. You can PM people in any language you want, however

Personally, I don't mind. Some day I am going to have to learn some Russian/Belarus...it forces me to, if so inclined, to look things up. Not that I have on this thread, though others I have.

I can pronounce the russian characters, though not with a russian accent.
Да нет - Da Nyet - Doesn't this mean "Yes no"? Совсем - Sobsyem Нет я конешно понимаю - Nyet Ya Kaneshno Panimaf Is this right? Russian is an interesting language, but this is an English board. I don't mind too much, especially when their English is worse than Babelfish's translation of the Russian they type. BTW, does anyone know of a better online translator than http://babelfish.altavista.com/ ? This works OK sometimes, but sometimes it's simply atrocious. I tried translating some of the posts in this thread and found it virtually impossible. |

hi! i think it is just that case, when if someone were post in english it would not be much more understandable to others, so, do not be angree on him. also, as i read russian forums, a lot of guys write so incorrect, so i can not figure if the machine translation will be successfull
smiddy of course, all languages have own beauty, but if you plan to read natural/technical sience literature, i'd reccomend you to learn exactly russian since it is also international de facto. the first barrier will be cyrillic alphabet, but it is not to hard to learn it and you will be surprized with easy rules of reading: only few letters combination slightly change pronounsation, in all other cases characters do not change their sound whereever they placed. also there are a lot of words look strange, but if you will read them you will guess meaning since they are from greek/latin/english. of course, this all does not mean russian is easy anyway you can always get help in russian on wasm.ru also you can look at polish: there are a lot of information in this language in inet, but i can read and can not express in it, but there are a lot from poland: they can tell you more. main advantage for non-cyrillic men - latin based alphabet, but it also has some additional characters. in any case if you learn one slav language, it will be more easy understand another since they have a lot of common. and while you can visit my joking: http://www.winasm.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=503 regards! |

Yes I remember now: в is pronounced like V, not B. What do you mean by virtual russian school? Is there a free online russian school? I'm short on money, so I can't just learn Russian just because I want to - unless it's free. |

@smiddy - for a fairly comprehensive Russian slang dictionary, check-out http://www.notam02.no/~hcholm/altlang/ht/Russian.html
I took Russian language in college and the professors said, "you really don't know a language until you master the slang". обоссаться можно ~ obossat's'a mozhno - Hypervista |
