Hi Everyone,
Over six years ago I used to program assembler in DOS using TASM, MASM and than NASM as a hobbyist. Since than, apart from learning to use the DJGPP C++ compiler for DOS and some recent foraying into Java I haven't done all that much. However I feel I would like to give assembler for Windows a bash. The hard bit I am told is learning how to use the APIs? Anyway, I have been trying to settle on an assembler and an IDE. One of the issues being a lack of tutorials for anyone wanting to program Windows in Assembler. The first that came up was MASM32 and the Iczelion's Win32 Asm Tutorials. I didn't really want to use MASM as I wanted the option to convert to Linux later. Also the tutorials make heavy use of high level directives which I never bothered with, and weren't used in the text books, when I was programming assembler for DOS. FASM seems like a possible choice out of the many now being offered as options. The example code written by Marcus Araujo, FASMCam, caught my eye as I had been using a CCD monochrome camera with the DJGPP C++ compiler in DOS and would like to use my LogiTech cam in a Windows project. So I was wondering how to go about getting up to speed with enough skill to build upon the FASMCam example to write my own webcam project. I might have to use MASM32 just to get up to speed with the Window APIs as it appears to have all the tutorials? Then translate later? When I checked out the FASM FAQ I tried this site, about 11 translated into FASM tutorials are available now http://sulaiman.thefreebizhost.com/ responded with, Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. ??? Anyway any thoughts or suggestions where I should go next would be much appreciated. Cheers, John Casey |

If you could decompile it to HTML it would be appreciated.
I don't have the means to view it otherwise. Thank you. Regards, John |
