what should i do if i want to use a compiled res file ?

I know i must use a linker.

should i also create a resource section in my code?

Yes, you can create resource section, but you can't use compiler res files with it. You have to use resource macroses from FASM standard macro library.

You can combine the compiled resource scripts(.res files) with your
executables by using a resource linker:
