Hm... Nice, but I think the menu bar is too big.

don't use bmp, use jpeg or png... and don't use a fancy background image like that when it doesn't really add anything.... the focus should be on the GUI controls etc., not something anybody could add to any OS whatever.

I agree. And the contrast of all the GUI controls with the background they are on is not too good; you can hardly read the word "Menu", for example. Also, you should show some Windows and things; the desktop is only part of the GUI. However, it's pretty good!

I've replaced it with JPG - it was wasting the webspace.

Thanks for the sugguestions everyone!

I purposfully made the menu bar large, I wanted to have more control over diffrent objects in one place, as the whole point of this OS is OOP.

I meant it to be more of a control console rather then a toolbar. And while this is mainly just a consept I like the idea of having more than just a clock, and a few icons. like the scrollable icons, the point of that was to beable to scroll through many diffrent apps running at the same time without having to look at tiny slivers as in XP.

Well the main idea from my standpoint is to make something completly
origanal, I dont like to copy other people's ideas. And while the idea of "windows" is fundamental I like to put in my own ideas. Thats the whole reason for writing an OS is it not?

I would still appreciate more suggestions.

Thanks.

What does that have to do with anything?! It's a GUI, not a movie!

Let's be realistic and not try to add (or suggest) useless features.

Why not make the menu bar resizeable (according to the application)

You could possibly add support for applets as well (like RedHat LINUX)
