Hmmmm... I can't seem to vote... anyways,
I am learning C++ right now. I tried a bit of C but C++ seemed a bit more structured imo. It also handled input easier than C. I also know PHP, HTML, VB 6, VB.NET, Python, Batch Programming, and some others that I have probably forgotten by now. ![]() |

I program in C, Assembly (x86 with Fasm, m68k/sh-4 with gas).
As for scripting: PHP, Perl, Bash. I also know: C++ (I don't use it.), Pascal (Haven't used it in a long time.), TI-BASIC (TI/99-4A). |

This thread is still fairly popular after all this time, I see. Perhaps it should be moved to the Main subforum as it is not really Windows-specific.
Not that it's all that important, but it is interesting to see what people use, and that's probably why it's still so popular. |

I think the list of languages in the poll is very limited.
I use smalltalk and lisp as well as assembler, java, c, c++ and python. Ive done PHP and Javascript but I wouldnt call them "programming languages" in the same sense as you would call C or Assembler programming languages. ie: Would you write and operating system in PHP or Javascript ? rgs, James. |

Most of my work these days is in PHP, but I do a lot with FASM too. I use Java occasionally for writing cross-platform apps, and C/C++ when I'm working with a group (not often). I started learning Perl, Python, and PHP at the same time, but after a while I just stuck to PHP and I think I've forgotten what little I knew about Perl and Python.

I really don't think you can fit all the programming languages here (you should put an "Other" option). There are a gazillion and two different languages (not on the list) including FORTRAN, SSS*, PHP, PERL, Ada, BASIC, C#, Clipper, Haskell, Io, Java, LISP, D, ML, Pike, Ruby, Scheme, Smalltalk, xHarbour, Pascal, etc.
The majority of these are from Wikipedia, so don't ask me anything about them: I only heard about the ones on the list/C#/PERL/BASIC/SSS*/FORTRAN/etc. I have used SSS* (expert)/C and C++ (not too god at it though)/16-and-64-bit ASM (getting better)/VB1 and VB6 (advanced)/VBDOS Professional (good) *Stands for SUPER System Script. Latest version out is 2.0. Last edited by Adam Kachwalla on 20 Apr 2006, 10:20; edited 1 time in total |
