Hello 2 all.
I was wondering how you guys and gals do your programming.
Because i'm new to the scene and you can say that my first proramming language is assembly, at least the one i stuck with and like the most.
It seems that the best assembly programmers all have done C before rolling into assembly language.
Are there any body who does all there programming in assembly ??
I ask because i have no desire at the moment to switch to another language.
I'm kinda rolling into assembly and kinda loving it.
Could i be going crazy ...???
Or should i do some programming in another language .?????

Actually all that I wrote now is in assembly, but I know also C so I chose asm/C/C++. I have also started with asm only, but during the time I learned C, not the other way, as most had done

I generally program mainly in FASM, and also (quite ofthen) I'm programming webpages in PHP.

FASM 90% and so I answered to the poll ASM-only, but other languages I've tried are BASIC, then came Visual Basic :wow:, and logically moved to C++ without going through C not even knowing what it is Very Happy and got stuck with ASM. If only servers supported FASM, but 'til then some PHP is required to run these babies (pages I mean Razz).
EDIT: Hmm, how could I've forgotten Machine Language - my Sharp PC-E500...

ASM-only

FASM and Delphi most times. Furthermore, I use a little C.
Other languages I learned are Pascal, Modula-2, Smalltalk, ML.

VBScript, VB6, FASM, HTML, CSS

I know a little bit of ASP, C/C++, XML, PerlScript, Java and JavaScript

I'm trying to move from VB6 to FASM, but first I got to work out how to convert anything VB6 to FASM - the main problem being Arrays and Strings... . I'm also working a debug window so I can monitor output/activity of my FASM programs at runtime like VB6.

Wow C/C++, and PHP seems to be winning.
I myself have tried delphi and liked delphi myself, but this was before i got the c++ in 21 days book.
I like asm for it's power, and the knowledge of the inner workings of the PC.
Techincaly ivé started out with with basic back in the days of AMIGA they had AMOS basic then on AMIGA.But didn't like it verry much. Hey don't get me wrong it was the thing at the moment, but just not for me.
Ok Ok i took a look at the book Embarassed
The only way you can get a better understanding of the inner working of the PC is by doing down low dirty programming in assembler.( that's my opinion ).
On the Window scene i started out reading some books on Delphi / and C++.
When i hit those pointers i kinda got scared of the whole thing.
But when you Hit assembly, pointers is just a Baby.
I still have a lot 2 learn, but if a stick on this forum i think i could get a lot further, because i know now that most of you know C/C++ and PHP, so
Laughing asking for help on this forum is the place 2 be.
I have allready seen some big names in these answers.
But i'm still interested to know how and what other language these other gurus program in..
I would like 2 know what you guys program in.
If i'm not to bold of course for asking.
Names:
Privalov
Vasilev Vjacheslav
scientica
JohnFound
comrade
roticv

If your name is not on the list and you think Hey i should be on this short list don't flame just drop a note and tell me how and what you do and don't forget 2 vote.
Thanks 2 all who repleid and voted.

Used to use more languages, but currently it's assembly and PHP only. Two languages that are almost opposite of each other, and therefore they complement each other for all my needs.

C is my true love, i also know C++.

FASM is to me, a way of learning more of the internals of the pc.
And of course optimising my C code.

Just a thank you for your votes.
i was thinking of trying out some C.
Yes good old fasion C.
or Maybe some C++
But the question is what can i make in C/C++ that i can't make in FASM or any other assembler ????

I came across Pelles C
What can you hardcore ASM gurus tell me about pelles C, or what do you think of it.
Another HLA that crossed my mind was purebasic, wich seems kinda cool for a beginner.
But for now it's just FASM, so be on the lookout for my newbie questions Laughing.
Thanks a lot.
