Heres what i understand about usb key fobs ( if that what you mean) first to boot from them, you bios must support booting from them (most later bios do) and most usb key fobs emulat ever Hdd or Fdd, so you would lay out your OS like you would if booting from the drive they emulat etc.
NOTE: Once in pmode you can not load anything from the fobs with out a usb driver, so all your loading needs to be done in real or un-real mode. I have not try any of the above, its just what i have read. Last edited by Dex4u on 30 May 2005, 19:36; edited 1 time in total |

As Dex says, both bios and flashdrive needs to support booting. You *can* handle access in pmode without a driver though, but it requires pm->rm->pm switching or vm86... so it's not really an option

But what ports are using? Do you have any documentations about this?

www.usb.org - there's a *lot* of documents
Also, there's some discussion about the topic at http://board.win32asmcommunity.net/index.php?topic=20289.0 (and no, I haven't made a driver yet, I've been pretty busy with school. Exams time right now.) |
