If you only whant a image, you can use GIMP, can output ps and eps files (for example for insert in TeX files)

If you whant write files for example for homework, you should use TeX, in Win MikTeX is a good option there is a minimal download and you can upgrade from there Smile, also another app that you will use is ghost viewer... Smile if we are talking about Windows, with Linux I supose that more of the things come in the distribution.

That help?

Smile but is there a dll in the windows to code own code to change doc or bmp or something else to PS?

I want to do it by myself because I want to code printing server and all network printers supports PS in my network. No driver is needed.

Without PS I have to install Cannon, Hp Drivers and this step complicate printer selection from printing server. All the data can be transfered in natiwe formats and then converted by printing server to PS and resend to printers.

But thx for the names of the programs such a gimp etc.
nice tool for free!

PostScript is a very complicated language from what I hear. Besides, if you use a DLL you will not be doing it by yourself anymore: you'll be doing it with a DLL!
