I agree on the optimization part but this is only needed if the code starts to get bigger (size opt.) - there is no harm leaving those constant multiplys or div's (speed opt.) in right now.
But I do think that some unified printing format for strings is neccessary. Maybe even rethink the placement of the displayed options in the header.

I think we should start going on tracks of digesting audiodata and parse it to format we can easily put into PCM later, when audiocard drivers start coming out...

just an idea, but if people make enough different format players (wav, mp3, etc) maybe they could put them all into one special program for MenuetOS like WinAMP. So MenuetOS would have a neat multi-format media player

I don't know if this will help, but i've found some win32-CLI mp3 player with decoder etc. Source inluded, but in C++..

sure, and we could port it to dos, and windows, and linux too,
if many developers were on the job, it whouldnt be so much time,
paralleling the work is the best thing to speed up development.
