Hi guys,

I'm working on a new OS (like the rest of you, looking at the name of this thread). In the process I've come across some problems.

I used to write my code to a floppy to boot from there, so I didn't have to mess with my hard disk and leave my precious Windows on it. Although this seemed like the best solution, rebooting took alot of time, especially if you got an error you can't figure out.

Right now I'm using Microsoft Virtual PC from a student licence, booting it from a "virtual floppy disk" (the virtual hard disk has undocumented headers), and all I have to do is load my code into the floppy image.

The floppy image has a fixed size of "1.44 mb", for the first "hello world" i copy pasted my code with a hex editor, but it got too much of a hassle to do so.

Anyway, for people using the same technique (uploading a file into an image) I've created a tool to load a FASM .bin file into the image, at a location of your preference (or any file into any other, larger file).

Happy coding Smile
