Simple answer: I don't know.
Not so simple answer: I assume you don't want to use libc, so you should take a look at the syscall ipc. Every function associated with ipc (msgXXX, shmXXX, etc.) commonly uses this one entry point. But as I see the number of the answers on your question you have to discover it yourself since not many people are dealing with it. Try to search the web for examples in C.
