Hi, i've got a code, and its search for a file, and get it in dta, so when i try open it with 0x3D it get a error(0x2 - file cannot be find) and i think that is becuase its doesn't stop after the 13 bite there is... dta+30 too 13 = file name... and i think it does to dta+30 too 64 ... i've need some there can take serial byte from dta+30 to 13 to another 16 bit register..... thanks Embarassed

my advice: don't use Disk Transfer Area and File Block Controls, use handles. They are pretty much easier to use and dos 3.0+ is everywhere so you can feel free to use it, everyone does.
