i think 7zip with LZMA is the best around

for example
Fresh1_1_7.7z 525kb
Fresh1_1_7.cab 554kb

it can help the bandwith limit too

I think the same. 7Zip is quiet unpopular, but that's not a reason for disallowing such files here.

Actually, I find it rather good, too. There are only several probs with it (my opinion):

-Only for Winows (No DOS, Linux Crying or Very sad )
-It uses too much threads while compressing/decompressing, thus it even manages to slow down my Athlon XP+ 3200 CPU Evil or Very Mad . I think they should limit the number threads a bit, to somewhat like 2-3.

There is an old version of 7zip that runs under Linux. The link is somewhere on the 7zip site IIRC.

think about buying a Military computer, windos will be faster too

Military computers are moveing to linux mainly to get away from single source O/Ss
just useing linux would be alot faster
