I put a vesa demo here: http://board.flatassembler.net/topic.php?t=1940
For people to try, it has been downloaded 43 times, but i have had no feedback Crying or Very sad

.
If you have down loaded it and have vesa2 on your pc, can you let me know if it worked ok or not.

help my something is wrong
the boot copyes 2 files at 0x5000 and 0x100000
i can;t jump from 0x5000 to 0x100000 nor vice versa
i think theat my GDT has something

your LGDT is invalid.
I haven't used NASM, but I think you have the wrong data there.

The start should be a word indicating size of GDT.
The next DWORD should be the physical location of where the GDT starts(the first 8 bytes not used since these represent the NULL selector).

It worked with my compaq armarda e500.

My custom pc doesn't support vesa 2.

Thanks Mac2004, But as they worked ok, i should not need them, it's the configuration of the ones, that do not work, which i would need.

Where's the VESA demo? Can't see in the msg chain you posted. Tried your homepage, clicking on the .zip says not available.

The zip doesn't work, it has to be downloaded from the forum, the download seems to have disappered, I can't find it, i have it though.

Its called vesa256.zip
