So how many of you would use a pmode Dos with up to 4GB of memory, but with all Dos functions, with modern drivers eg: USB etc, and that does not run on top of windows, ??????????.

I would like it in real mode. I know it is unsuitable for users, but really fun to code for Smile

You can go on the internet with Dos, there lots of people that do heres some links:
http://www.fdisk.com/doslynx/
http://home.arachne.cz/

Also v3os will be able to go on the net, and v3os can run on Dos, so you will have the best of both worlds.

Look out in the coming days for the first release here: http://www.v2os.cx/

BIOS hasn't died.
It comes on every x86 computer intel & their colones make.
So I would like to see an Unreal mode OS based on existing BIOS
functions that are well documented & supported by some interrupts
that do Disk Opperateing & program with FASM.
UBDOS = Unreal Bios & Disk Opperating System.

But I haven't got around to doing it myself (damn it).
I got a cheepo OS I made to run, but it just viewed existing memory
& regs.

Oh well, there's always tomorrow..........

@Bitdog, I am a fan of unreal mode, but i still think its better in the long run, to make a 32bit pmode dos like OS, like DexOS (short for "Dos Extreme") Wink .
Thats why a team of us are making such a OS, it what dos would of been had M$ not killed it Crying or Very sad although they did bring it back as the Xbox Smile.
