YEs.. id like to know hwo to do this too...
How about in the code or the kernal there is a 'floppydisk ramsize multiplier'
Bassically a variable that says how many multiples of 1.44 megs the ranmdisk is...
That would allow the ramdisk to fit on an even number of disks ^_^

Then when it was written to/loaded from floppy.. it pause and say "insert disk 2..3.. etc"

Use FAT32 filesystem, or ext2fs

We do use fat 32/12... Do you read the posts before you reply to them??
This post has nothing to do with file SYSTEMS...
We are talking about the SIZE of the ramdisk.

yes, i have replied on a post, and i was exactly talking about ramdisk,
ramdisk has to emulate a file system in order to store files on it.

you can't make a large ramdisk which emulates fat12 like a floppy, you can emulate many small floppies that way.

Sure you can. I have a 10MB FAT12 partition on one of my hard drives; you don't need FAT16 or 32 for something that small. ext2 is nice though...

Thanks!, another question. I have a image of my distro (MenuetOS DEV Edition) and i cant copy file anymore. The disk have a lot of free space, but i cant copy more files. Is Fat12 limited in the number of files ?

Thanks for your time

There is a limit to root file entrie I believe.
Delete a file, make a directory and copy the files there.
It might work.

Fat12 only allows a certain amount of root files. (256? 512? i forgot)
The way the Menuet ramdisk is coded, it can not be changed that easy.
