Hello there!

I wonder why one should import kernel32.dll, user32.dll, etc. for x64 applications?
These have both versions of functions 32 and 64? Or operating system does something to make it work compensating the difference in calling convention?

It is a long story.

MS kept the '*32' naming for compatibility with "bad" applications that hardcoded the names into the source.

Just because it's called kernel32 doesn't mean it's not a different 64-bit DLL.
