This is something that I wanted to do for a long time, but now I finally gathered resources to attempt it. It is a Git repository with reconstructed history of fasm's source code, going back to unreleased versions developed back in 1999 for private use.
You can find it at: https://github.com/tgrysztar/fasm In several places there are jumps skipping some version numbers - not all snapshots have been preserved in my archives. Also, I did not include 1.67.x and 1.69.x lines, as they have also been only partially preserved. Nonetheless, I believe all the important milestones are present. |

If you're familiar with Git (even at a basic level), the process is pretty straightforward. You need to be able to provide metadata like date/time and description (for example version number) for each archived snapshot - but if you can automate extraction of such information from the archives, you should be able to make a script that would do it all. In my case I had to do some of the things manually, as the quality of the snapshots varied.

Why not put it on flatassembler.net?

It is _extremely_ annoying because freedesktop.org did choose to move from github to gitlab: until now, github core features do work on small web browsers. |
