I still see idiots who think the quarantine is ridiculous and people overblow it.

I don't think they realize that the amount of people who recover includes those which need intensive care, which are a lot. They look at numbers and see 90% recover, so they think all of them can easily recover at home.

Now imagine what happens if the health care system is overloaded with these idiots trying to recover because they didn't respect the quarantine? Sounds like death rate will suddenly soar.

Can we send them to Mars? They can infect anyone they want there.
the idiots who constituted modern 'IT industry' are still here
we do need cast them into bottomless pit

No, this is permitted by the government and recommended actually. I see no risk, we are alone in the park.

COVID-19 may spread through breathing and talking — but we don't know how much
https://www.livescience.com/covid19-coronavirus-transmission-through-speech.html

Quote:

Although these modes of transmission could help to explain how asymptomatic and mildly infected people fuel the virus' spread, researchers don't yet know whether tiny particles expelled in breath infect more people than large droplets spewed through coughs, experts told Live Science.

Quote:

"There's a possibility" that COVID-19 primarily spreads via fluid particles less than 0.0002 inches (5 microns) in diameter, known as aerosols, which can be emitted when people speak, said William Ristenpart, a professor of chemical engineering at University of California, Davis. "We just don't know," he said.

Quote:

"We don't observe the transmission process … We actually don't know how respiratory diseases are transmitted," Shaman said. While scientists understand the various routes by which respiratory viruses can enter the body, determining which route a pathogen prefers can be incredibly difficult, Ristenpart added. Although scientists have studied influenza for decades, its primary route of transmission remains a mystery,

Quote:

they found that people expel between one and 50 aerosol particles per second as they speak, depending on their volume, or how loud they speak.

unknown, and we don't know,

take care all

So to stop the spread we need to stop breathing and talking. Sounds reasonable to me. That would solve all of humanity's problems very quickly. Laughing

Like if it could choose which particles to find itself in.

Anyway, the possible transmission through talking doesn’t make students talk less Smile It still depends on the content discussed more than on the infection probability.

It will stop as soon as most people catch the illness and the collective immunity starts to work. Quarantine measures make this moment happen much later than it could be for the sake of saving hospitals from being overcrowded with patients. How soon this stops depends on the capacity of medical systems of different countries.

Is that even possible? What if it mutates too fast for that to matter?

Every virus out there mutates. But mutation does not necessarily change the properties that make body recognize the virus and turn on the defensive mechanisms. Also take a look at herpes: it stays with about 90% of people for the whole lifetime, sometimes wakes up and spreads itself, possibly mutating at this point. Immunity is not a database tables holding hashes, it’s much more flexible.
