Alexey Lyashko has written a book about assembly programming that uses fasm as a primary tool: Mastering Assembly Programming. It is not aimed at beginners, but it is one of a very few books teaching assembly language with fasm, and I think it is worth acknowledging it here. I also took (a minor) part in publishing this book, serving as a technical reviewer.

BTW, if you know of any other books that reference/use fasm, please let me know. I have a copy of BIOS Disassembly Ninjutsu Uncovered that I received on fasmcon 2009, but these two are the only ones I have.

I was originally unfamiliar with Packt as a publisher, but recently bought 2 or 3 of their books from Amazon, both on the Kindle. One was on Java 9, another on JUnit 5, both of which are relatively new subjects, especially for a book.
From what I've read through Packt so far, I would say their relevancy and the usefulness of their content is pretty good. I got a lot out of what I read and was able to use it on the job. I looked through the Mastering Assembly book and it looked pretty cool too, plenty of mentions of FASM/its author. I was just trying to get up to date with the books I read (already behind now that Java 10 is here), so I didn't mind that the Java books seemed a little 'hurried' in terms of their pacing. It would be interesting to see what the Assembly one reads like (on an older subject matter) and I'm sure I would learn a ton if I can understand everything (need to check table of contents). This book publishing is good news! |

I have just been notified about another new book that uses fasm, Programming from Scratch by Iaroslav Tsisarzh. This one seems more suitable for beginners and it looks good.
