Why don't you set a hot key to tab's context menu "Assign to compiler" in FASMW window? It takes a few seconds to do and this is sorely lacking.

"Assign to compiler" is Shift+F9 (see section 1.1.3 in FASM.PDF; also this is one of the keys shared with FASMD).

Wow! I missed this stuff for ages. Why not display the shortcut in the popup menu then? Or, maybe, duplicate it in the main menu, IDK. Most people tend to skip this part of documentation, I guess, seeing Left arrow and Right arrow at the beginning.
