Thank you, it is a useful book. I actually bought this thick book (with white cover) before millennium for MYR 70 (approx. USD 20 at that time).

The not funny part is, sometimes I misspelled his name as "Ralph Brown".

I also find the instruction set reference at https://c9x.me/x86/ very helpful, as it details execution times as well as what happens in the internal logic of the CPU when you write code. Very rarely do you need such details, but when you do need them it is there.

Those times are of course vastly out of date. Each version of the CPU that comes out has different timings. And the actual values are deeply obscured by all the OOO and buffering happening. Unless you have the exact CPU that the website was based on (the original Pentium?) then it won't mean much for anything else.
