I plan to make a special stream on March 23rd. This is going to be 20th anniversary of when I started writing the first version of fasm. The official 20th anniversary of fasm is going to next year (the first public release was on June 19th, 2000), but this little "private" anniversary seems like a great opportunity to make a live event, perhaps some Q&A? Or just playing with fasm, DOS, etc.
I believe I can reserve the entire day for this purpose, so I could try a few different hours to adapt to different time zones of people that might want to join. If you're interested, please let me know! |

Due to my various constraints I was not able to organize anything larger, so I have settled on showing just a few little bits of fasm's initial (private) versions and recorded it for YouTube:

After doing some live tests this morning I have recorded a very basic tutorial on setting up fasm:
https://youtu.be/HCfwIG8ZzI0 I'm ready to start streaming again regularly. Please let me know what things you would like to see! ![]() I would stream around 09:00 UTC, as usual. |

If things to see mean something new to fasm - creating GUI IDE for Linux, or creating set of includes for GUI in Linux.
If things to see mean something already developed - process of creation assembler (fasm or fasmg) - it would be nice to know their internals as thou know them. |

Another set-up guide, this time for fasmg:

A second video in the fasmg series, showcasing the 8051 example that comes with the core package:
https://youtu.be/NEN1yRUZj5I I like this format, so I'm probably going to record more short demonstrations of this kind. Perhaps some simple macro writing, too. |

Currently I don't do live streams, it was hard to find a good window when the people could come to watch.
Therefore I started simply recording off-line, this also allows me to make shorter and more focused guides/tutorials. I got a very positive feedback, so I'm most likely going to continue recording them. |

The video guides turned up quite well, but I feel like doing something more relaxed, like another live session just playing with some silly things. Perhaps I could try showing some old examples, like "kelvar", that are really quite hard to get running.
Would any of you be interested? |

The recording of today's stream is up:
https://youtu.be/2K8mpX_kWN0 There was a suggestion that I should link to this video next to where kelvar.zip is in the examples section. This might be a good idea! |

I'm planning another stream for next week. I would love to show some of the recent developments of CALM-powered fasmg. I may be writing some CALM code and explaining it, showing how to convert macros, or perhaps showing how to use fasmg in general, also for fasm 1 users. Please let me know what would interest you the most!

Hi. If it's possible, I would like to see the CALM-byte code instruction set along with the "constant pool".
And also, some secret CALM-trick like the one in normal fasmg ("#" to remove further context), if any. I'm yearn fo this live ![]() |
