Not sure I'm of any bigger help, I just got some ideas poping up - dunno if they can be of use, but anyway here it is:
maybe you could dig/goolgle up the ports WINS use (primarly connection/session opening ports), and then either somehow block it (if you can, might not work unluess you got some switch/routerswitch which can do packet filtering (checking their destination/source port) filtering - or use some windows equivalence of nmap to port scan the subnet on the WINS port(s), and then based on the result from the mapping, make a list of IPs/machines which allows connections to the WINS port. And then you look up an e-mail for the IP (maybe via some look up table or so), and then send it using MAPI (or what ever Mail API there is - if there is any). |

...and how will we connect it to FASM? Make a program for that...or what?

I only programm with fasm
![]() I thought about scanning open Wins port but this solution doesn't give me any details to send e-mail. I can't block the protocol into router because there is no routers, hub and switch only. Users are administrators their own commputers but as you know services like WINS are vulnerable and not safe for such kind of network. We have DSL line and state full firewall between Lan and WAN (Internet) but many programs are from another sources than internet. I would like make this situation less uncertain- every files I'm going to put onto Local FTP server even the file that users want to exchange betwee each other. Second advantage of this method is that such operation like queuing files transfer does't decrease the network capacity so dramatically like chaotic WINS transfering in the same time in the same colision domain. I'll try to find the solution and use it in demo programm. regards, _________________ Microsoft: brings power of yesterday to computers of today. |
