make common controls like edit boxes, scrollbars, and common dialogs like 'open file', and linux users will decrease dramatically.

I doubt it. From what I've see, most Linux users would not consider switching until it supports more hardware and the applications they use on a regular basis.

i think mega' meant making MeOS run Linux/Win5#!+/*BSD apps.
That would be nice Very Happy but turning it into a microkernel and providing a layer for all of them would be even better Wink.
