This time I got something weird. I was tired of reverse engineering a DOS game in LE format because of lacking tools, and suddenly got an idea to convert it to PE format, which is used by Windows and many tools support it.

And in DOS, HX DOS Extender is able to load such format.

Surprisingly, the game I converted (Doom 2D) worked right away in PE format.


Turned out fasmg is great for such task, some extensive binary manipulation.

I haven't tested this too much, as a minimum, let this serve as an example for fasmg, but maybe someone finds it fun to convert and test some DOS games. Or any LE executables from Watcom C++.
