I have gotten a new beta release of NOS out, with a working UI and a stable API. I have done little testing to check if external programs work however, so if you wish to test that you do so at your own risk.
I also worked on the A20 code some more, and NOS should now boot on 99% of A20-enabled hardware. If it doesn't boot on your system and spits out "A20ERR", please don't hesitate to let me know so I can work out a fix.
Also, I would like to note that this is a one-man operation and that my only other development help is through GitHub's pull request interface and issue tracker. Anyone who would like to report an issue or help develop can do so there.
Here is the link to the download page for those interested: https://github.com/nkeck720/nos/releases
I plan to have a release 1.0 out by January or February if all goes well.
It may look hard, but it won't take long if you take it one byte at a time.
