That's how we come to a final answer, by discussing. It would be awful if all it took was one reply saying "it depends LOL" and then we're done. People have different view points and understanding levels. At least we came to the "right" outcome without someone telling us that there is one true result that is always true. Better to have the truth than some common sense "answer" that gets applied without proper thought or discussion. Common sense would've told us that cmov was "better" simply because if it wasn't then why does it exist. And as we have seen, it is not all clear cut and simplistic.
