Well, there is always next tournament.
It is sad, indeed.
I never seen Messi miss the whole net.

Yeah, there will always be another tournament.

But my favorite national team will be very different then.

The quarter-finals of Euro 2016 begin this Thursday.

Germany vs Italy will be an eye-catching game.

Hope that Iceland can make another miracle by beating the host to reach the semi-finals!

ISL-ENG: A lesson here - do not play Vikings! Those poor Brits!
I think Messi will realize, that retirement is a mistake - he will be in great shape for some time.
I hope he will be back.
I wonder if he will still play for some club, like Ronaldo did or Roberto Carlos.

He is retiring from the national team, not his club.

What really worries me is that many other big names like Sergio Aguero could follow Messi into retirement:

If so, my favorite national team will be very different.

We will see in a couple of months.

I think Iceland could be the dark horse in this tournament. Let's see how far they can go.

Commiserations to Poland's fans. Losing the penalty shootout must have been really hard to swallow, especially when it was one of their best players, Jakub Błaszczykowski, who missed the kick.

My attention now turns to the eye-catching game: Germany vs Italy.

Seems that Wales could be another dark horse in this tournament. Let's see if they can beat Portugal in the semi-finals.

Like it or not. A bit of luck is needed to win a penalty shootout.

Germany missed three penalties and still went through to the semi-finals.

Now, let's see whether Iceland can make another miracle.

Sadly, the dark horse could not make another miracle. In fact, the host outplayed Iceland by a mile.

Germany vs France will be a tough one.

Let's see if the other dark horse, Wales, can beat Portugal.

I am wanting Portugal to win the Euro 2016... But I believe it is highly unlikely.

If Portugal doesn't go to the finals, then I'll be cheering for Germany.

Go, go, Germany!

I am not a fan of any of the national teams competing in the semi-finals.

But I hope Wales can make it through to the final.

We will see.

Sadly, the other dark horse could not make another miracle. Sad

To me, it does not matter which national team will play Portugal in the final.

France has the habit of hosting and winning every event they host.
Germany has the habit of humiliating the host country in the semi-finals.

I think Germany will defeat France and go to the final with Portugal.

No matter who will face Portugal in the final, as much as I would like to see Portugal winning (and France out of the final)... It will be a tough challenge and I'd be surprised if Portugal actually wins. I'd say there's about 20% chance of Portugal winning.

Go, go, Portugal!

Now, that Portugal will face France, they just won't have higher possibilities, they can decide the game in less than 90 minutes.

My wish is Portugal 2-0 France under 90 minutes, in the face of France and its warm population. It seems crazy, eh?!

Go, go, Portugal!

I guess France will have the upper hand given the huge support from the local fans.

But I hope Portugal can make history by winning the tournament for the very first time!

Congratulations to Portugal's fans.

Their national team made history by winning the European Champions title for the very first time!

The title is ours. Deserved victory of Portugal.

Parabéns, Portugal! And congratulations to France for hosting the event!

It is OK everybody wants the 1st place, but I think we should give to the second and third place medals the value they actually have, and the respect they deserve.
