how can i create unix-compatible tar (not ustar) from scratch
i don't know how to calculate the checksum

can any 1 give me a source in c or asm

or calc the chksum for me and time

Grab the source for GNU tar, and look there.

it's too big and have gnu extension for tape archieves

it written in nasm.
