IdeaI was thinking of something for people involved in 'looks tuning' Cool
for example I am longing for FASM exe icon because the original W32
ones are Sad a bit too common. It should be something gray/cold and
neutral so that everybody likes it and it should have obvious relation
with flat assembler and its theme(The chip and/or hammer).

Some of you are ok with FASM's own icon, but I think it would be nice
to have a separate one for applications(in Windows - the titled window)
and preferrably one icon for each OS Smile

P.S. I know how to use icon editors, but I haven't been blessed with a
hand of an artist:cry:. They are strong, but not creative Rolling Eyes

Have you tried "resource hacker" on google?

If my guess is right, it will do the job well.

fasm9,

Fasm.exe doesn't contain a resource section. Is it possible to add resources to such a file without resource section?

Modifying FASMW.EXE should be ok, but modifying FASM.EXE is likely to cause a crash or other problems.

Sorry if I wasn't clear about my wishes:
I want somebody to design an icon so we can add
it to our own projects (NOT Fasm itself) so all exes
we compile have this icon, not like the Windows's
regular one (blank window with a blue titlebar). For
example the RapidQ BASIC compiler program has
a specifically designed 'window icon' and it always
bundels with the compiled app.

But it implies to save the icon in a resource section inside the PE.
The windows' regular one does not need neither resource section.

What about this (not a very creative one Rolling Eyes ):

Description: Fasm's chip on top of app window
Download
Filename: fasmapp.ico.txt
Filesize: 894 Bytes
Downloaded: 461 Time(s)

I read similar things some else where, they did magic by using resource hacker and simple hex editor and win32debugger..

WIN32: sweet GUI, but no whole insight to us, and not free, danger in MSIE..

I think it would be more useful to have some easy way to put your own icon on your apps, with maybe a special FASM-related icon as a default. Maybe this has already been done.
