fasm gave error "code cannot be generated" I guess the above compiled fine with older version (1.4x) what am i missing ?

since 1.51 (i think) "defined" behavior has changed. Now it checks whether symbol is defined *anywhere& in source (not only before usage of "defined". But this way,
if ~dfefined a
a=1 ;define a here
end if
is illogical, because it is somthing like "if a is not defined then a is defined".
