Hi guys,
Well this is related to programming, but not related to fasm, so i thought main thread might not be the place for this discussion, what is your opinion about this license:
WTFPL (Do What the Fuck You Want to Public License)

How much better ia GPL license for you?

Maybe you prefer another license, and your code runs on proprietary code (windows), also every single component in your PC hardware that is running your proprietary OS is owned and copyrighted, plans kept as industrial secret.

Obviously you will not be protected from any megacorporation by anybody.
(You might have health issues, or might disappear, and they might prefer continuing your work...)

GPL require the users to make any derived or associated source code available to others, right?
While I think it makes sense on community-oriented software, such as Linux kernel or GCC, I'm personally not a big fan of it, because
I don't want to put burden on the users.

Yes, I really like the idea of WTFPL. "You just you whatever you want". Definitely will use this for my personal projects Very Happy

Not quite. There is a difference. With PD you cannot copyright it for yourself and sell it to others. But with a license that says do whatever you want then such things would be allowed. Someone else could take your work, copyright for themselves and sell it.

Also, PDing a work is not allowed in a few countries i.e. publishing anything without a license (Germany probably?), so you've got to fall back to WTFPL or similar.
