Okay so, I did the unthinkable and ported Bubble BASIC to Windows.
All the dependencies (excluding FASM/NASM) are included in the .zip file. Installation is done with a simple batch script. The documentation explains everything. I've fixed many bugs (including some regressions). Also you can build the Linux version from these sources (on a Linux host). Just download the latest version (BubbleBASIC-0.1.7.zip) from http://sourceforge.net/projects/bubblebasic/files/ |

Hi sleep, thanks.
One thing I would like to do one day is create some basic bindings to Simple DirectMedia Layer to enable the writing of 2D games. There may be problems with multi-threading though as I made a stupid decision very early on to make Bubble BASIC use lots of global (non-TLS) variables. If you want to hack on Bubble BASIC I'd recommend reading the book Real World Haskell. http://book.realworldhaskell.org/read/ |
