I downloaded the latest distro yesterday and began to "hate", that I had to close Systree to re-read a directory after doing some file operations with other apps.

I thought it would be a good idea to assign F5 to refresh the directory and repaint the Systree window.

It took me ONE hour to figure out, that F5 returns the letter '6' because of the keymaps. But the key 6 returns the letter '6' too. That's strange to me! Wink

Can anyone explain the strange keymaps to me?
Why is 0 mapped to '6' too?

Surprised
popanski as I recall, very hazy now, means place everything in order, pa russki. So, I am sorry, but I don't quite understand what Sniper is supposed to elaborate. Ville is a superb assembly language programmer, unlikely to be offended by anyone's criticism. If he has erred in some way, spell it out. Assembly language programmers are not timid, shy, wall flowers who wilt under a scorching sunlight. I think that BOTH Ville, and the Russian team have done tremendous work. Can you remember back five years ago? I can. It was like looking in Siberia for coconut palms. The progress, both in Menuet, and its (too many???) various flavors, and in other applications of FASM are simply astonishing to me. I am so filled with gratitude to all those who have worked so diligently to make Menuet and FASM a success. There is no need to be afraid to offer comments, even critical ones. No one is going to be offended. Write plainly, and express your honest opinion. If others don't like what you write, that's their problem, not yours. Regards, tom tobias Smile

I know the network and some other stuff works a little better on Russian distribution.

One thing I though for sure would have been the power off, has worked great on the Russian one for a long time, last time I checked, didn't work on the official distribution.

It is tough to let people help you develop your OS. Look at Linux at it's 20,000 distributions. Linus always had control of the kernel, that is basically what is being worked on now with menuetos.

Vile is only one person, so it is probably pretty hard to shift through all the code people are submitting to see what should/should not be included.
