i just thought that such kinda worm is possible,
let say, it is non-harmful but could just replicate virtual users, as if they are google something, push text into postbin or etc internet place that allow people to post something, google drive? skydrive and so on,

this worm will replicate, consciously across internet,
not that i am saying this worm could bring down internet, but the traffic will certainly go higher as if, 1 worm equal to 1 active user.

it just need some sort of chain reactions built in, no need for a command control center, just utilize the free infra available on the internet,

a download that cause another download, and then cause another download,

this worm will just function as if like active user, only it doesn't needs sleep,
it is 24x7 active user,

@sleepsleep
Destructive worms/viruses are of the past. Today any malicious code is about profit. And the rule goes like "Don't shit where you eat". For example, mining worms are memory/resource usage aware so they can't be noticed and sometimes means running when the user is inactive.

So, sending high volumes of traffic will get your host's IP flagged and that could potentially lead to your worm being discovered. Using that pattern of detection, slowly, step by step your worm would be uncovered.

Also, the hardest part is not creating them but propagation.
