I am really new in fasm - so sorry for my question. I am trying to do two simple tasks -
1. load .png image in asm code
2. convert it with any filter to other image

could you provide some samples for image processing?

Do the examples have to be linux? It'll be easier to start with bitmap files but either way I have some prototype code for my OS software graphics pipeline using SSE but this is currently a mix of FASM and C on Windows. I can extract the relevant snippets though.

I don't understand what you are interested in. Do you want to develop a png decoder and a, say, jpeg encoder? Or even these things are those you are not interested in at all, and you merely want to write some kind of image processing algorithm and for that you'd need to load and save the image in some format with the least effort?
