I have followed the videos on UT. They haven't worked... for me?
Would the DOS "ATTRIB" command work? what form? "attrib d: -r" ??
It is for a camera actually, but the connection is via USB, so something should work?
Sensible ideas would be appreciated.

A USB port does not work that way. It is a just two way serial link. It is the same as asking to write protect your Internet connection.
