I was a quite long time Winamp user (> 8 years), and I still remember
many years ago while still in the high school, one of the fun things to do
is messing with Winamp skins. Smile

Winamp, without no doubt, is one of the most famous Windows-based audio player, and it's not strange
if the other players try to "mimic" it.

All things finally will meet their end, and so does Winamp.
I wish the Nullsoft folks a better future, then. Smile

I love this program. I use the old version 2.95 about ten years. It's always the first program i install on windows when a format occur. Only when it stops working on Windows i will look for alternative player.

Thanks for the update TmX. I don't use Windows but I know a few unfortunate people who will want to get the last version. Winamp was pretty good.

I haven't used Winamp in many years. When using Windows I prefer VLC, especially the fact that it is a FOSS project, so there's no risk of the company scrapping the project "just because".

I'm sick of these proprietary software companies (I'm looking at you, Opera Software ASA).

For those interested, here's an interesting Ars Technica article on the subject.
