Is there a way to determine if a camera battery that ouputs 7.4 V really has a 1900 mAh rating instead of 1000 mAh ?

A company says they have a 1900 Mah battery and it's labelled Vivatar.

I went to Vivatar's website, and they have no such battery.

Thanks esteemed gentlemen and scholars.

Connect a resistor directly to a fully charged battery and time the discharge until empty. It is not perfect because the resistor current drops as the voltage drops but it will give you a close approximation.

Do you mean I should connect a resistor between the negative and positive terminals ?

So, I guess I would check every so often until the voltage is zero ?

Thanks.

Yes, a resistor from positive to negative. Bear in mind the wattage though, you don't want it getting too hot.

Also, for 2S Li-Ion batteries only go down to 6V, not to zero. A fully charged 2S battery will be around 8.4V so you can calculate the resistor value and wattage based upon that.
