I hate these things. Why don't write the long mode anyone will understand? (rhetorical question)

well. i dont know either if it is possible or not.
Perhaps u can take antenna, and then some chips (because i believe tuning of the frquencies are achieved via chips and perhaps a coil as well but on high frequencies coils are not used.

then u might get the documentation of the chip, and those other components measures, and u might build a circuit to program the chip and u can then build a radio. no idea y u need dvd reader, maybe if there are components inside with good parameters wich cannot be found inside wifi things.

also no idea y u need the speaker in case u would write a program then u can write program on computer side and interface through ethernet port or usb 3.0 but i think ethernet port has lower latency. not quite sure about this but i think it is true (as for controler chips and such are considered but i dont realy know).

... or you could buy a cheap radio receiver card and save a lot of hassle, time and money.

I don't like them either.

Seem a little lazy to me plus some of them like SOL mean more than one thing.
