Hi all.
I am new on this forum. I have been x86 assembler programmer for over 30 years so I'd like to use MenuetOS in my embedded applications.
Just now I am working on a new embedded project for industrial use.

My target machine is Vortex86 one-board computer with two CF slots which are seen as IDE ATA disks. So far I have DOS 7 running from the primary one.

I would like to know how to prepare a bootable MenuetOS CF for my machine without using floppy (NONE OF OUR COMPUTERS has floppy!!!!)

My basic PC runs Windows XP or Windows 7.

It would be great if anyone here helped me get started because I've been browsing through whole internet for a week and have not find answer.

thanks in advance

Hi annjer,

I don't necessarily know the answer, but one thing I know for sure that Menuet64 works pretty well with USB devices, i'm using an old-style USB.

If the target machine is x86 based, it's a little bit unfortunate since the 32-bit version is not developed any more, but that doesn't mean that your problem cannot be solved.

It'd be best that a core developer had answer your question.

I will mention your case to someone there.

Regards,
Akos

If your cf-setup supports cd-format, then the easiest way is to write a bootable cd-image to the flash card drive using the instructions at menuetos.net/download area. This requires that bios recognizes the card as el-torito cd.
