im having trouble. when im compile a program it compiles it to a .com file and when i run it its all messed up. it almost looks like its encrypted.
if you can help me in any way..it would be greatly appreciated

oh,and also, i need to change the .com files to an exe

I think he wants to write a Windows program if he mentions he has Windows XP.
ASMPQ, take a look at EXAMPLES that come with FASM to see how to make different types of applications for either DOS (COM/EXE) or Win32 (DLL/EXE)

make sure to download the correct fasm package for windows, not dos
