Oh how I wish that were true. Then I would never need the edit button. Hehe, newbie mistakes: I make 'em. With every mistake I must surely be learning.

But seriously, the hard part is recognising potential problems before they happen. Once that is done then the rest is all just typing.

I think this prog is beautifully written and exellently documentated, but is not working on my computer. It opens a messagebox which says : "Element not found". That is it. I would like to know which element.

The same with CustomFont. It opens and does not do anything. The window has no content except for the color.

What is wrong with my machine?

Supposedly, in your system some of DLL libraries are absent.

What version of Windows do you use? The original program was tested under Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1.

Win7 Ultimate 32-bit
And I reinstalled it only 3 weeks ago. So I do not thinks there is anything missing.

I just again loaded down your program (above). Same result.
MessageBox "Element not found"
??? what element ?

Actually this machine runs quite well.
For a test I will activate most services - only to know what is going on.

Have you compiled it with FASM (which version?) or just tried to run provided executable?

I have compiled the program source with FASM 1.71.17 from 9th February 2014 and everything works perfect on my machine. It must be definitely something on your side what makes the problem.

The compiler is 1.71.11. I compiled it with fasmw and fresh.

I forgot to mention that the errormessage is not from the system. It is your " stdcall ErrorRoutine, exit ".
It happens after the first window or when the second window is created.
I have inserted "my own errorroutine in german" to know when it happens.

Yes - it certainly is my machine. I will find out because this is one of the best written and "DOCUMENTATED" progs I have so far seen on the forum. It contains a lot to learn !
Thank you for your immediate answer.

If you have problems with fonts, you can try to change FontName from 'Tahoma' to 'Verdana', 'Arial' or anything else.
